Jason Simmons: When I first saw your picture, I never would have assumed you’re a mother already. You mustn’t have been a mother for very long.

Lora Donnelly: No, my daughter is only 3. And I am 24 if you’re wondering.

Jason Simmons: 24? That’s means you’re only 1 year younger than me. I’m 25. So, what about the father? What happened to him?

Lora Donnelly: My ex was an abusive guy. You probably heard this story a thousand times before. Popular girl falls for bad guy thinking she’ll have a life of fun and excitement, only to be disappointed by him.

Jason Simmons: Yeah, that story does make the rounds a lot.

Lora Donnelly: Well, I was foolish enough to let it happen to me. Then, when I got pregnant, I feared he would treat my baby just as bad as he treated me. I guess that’s when my mother instinct kicked in, because I packed all I could and traveled three states further. Left behind all my friends to start a new life. Just me and my baby.

Jason Simmons: Wow, wasn’t it hard?

Lora Donnelly: Very hard. But that was 4 years ago and I haven’t heard from my ex since then, so I think it’s worth it.

Reading Lora’s story, you are actually quite impressed with her. You don’t know if you could have left everything and traveled to another state like she has.

Lora Donnelly: But despite having my daughter’s company, I still have need of a man in my life. Preferably a good guy this time. Someone who is kind instead of strong. Someone who would treat me right and be a good father for my daughter. Can you see yourself that way?
