About that...

We sat heavily onto the nearest boulder. The cool stone was a compliment to to the foggy chill in the air. Kaila took my hand in hers gently, and looked at me with one of the most loving expressions I'd ever seen from her. I felt a lump in my throat as my mind whirled with all of the things that had happened during that first honeymoon. What was she talking about?

"I didn't go on our first honeymoon," Kaila said flatly. She breathed out, and it was like watching a ice cube melt away with the tension in her body. "I still hurt from... the procedure... and Carla offered to keep you honest."

Her hands squeezed mine tightly. My mind whirled over the past, remembering how she had said no, and I had ordered room service. And got bitter. And drunk. And hung out in the Casino's arcade for hours, because I had promised not to gamble after I ran out of money. And I hadn't... but I had got drunk.

"You know how many times you tried to get laid? At least thirty times over the week." Kaila smiled. "Of course, you thought she was me, so I understand why you were a little frustrated."

And Kaila... no... that had been Carla... had laughed every time. She had said how badly she had wanted to... but she felt awful. I for my part had... well, I wanted to show her how much I loved her, but she had said no. Honestly, it had been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life, especially considering that we had just gotten married and I wasn't sure if we had even done the right thing...

"She... fell in love with you on that trip, Brent." Kaila sighed. "I mean it was supposed to be your honeymoon, and you were..."

She bit her lip again.

"We shared the whole thing with each other. Texted each other every time. I... was really surprised you didn't cheat." Kaila pulled her phone from her pocket and flipped through a few menus before pulling up a picture of me, wreathed in steam, exiting a bathroom in what looked like the Suite at the Venetian. "I was so worried after this one." She admitted, before flipping a little further to a picture of me drunk... on the couch. Not my finest hour.

"Wait, Carla fell in love with me?" I asked incredulously. "She never said anything."

"Gotta love twin powers." She beamed at me. "How many times have I told you I love you? And sometimes, if we try hard we can still do the creepy twin thing."

"Wait, I have told..." I boggled at the concept.

"Oh yeah. A LOT of times." Kaila laughed. "First time it happened Carla totally was freaked out and had to get her little sister to talk her out of the bathroom. You said it right as you were going to work..."

"I don't get this. I mean, Helen and Charlotte were serendipity, but now Imogene AND Carla? This is ridiculous!" I blurted.

"Look, uhm... I don't know how to explain it, Brent." She pursed her lips. "There's something so... male about you. It's not all the time, but when you turn it on... " She crossed her legs tightly. "It just calls to me somehow. I Love you, but it's almost primal how I do... When you get in the mood, and your hands get on me all I can think about is your eyes as you... Dammit... you know I'm getting wet, right?"
