Join Daphne, Jason, Mars, and Val

You point to Daphne’s side of the pitch, and Charlie grins.

“Thanks bro,” he says. “I’m never going to pass up a chance to fuck Javier up good.” He jogs off to the other net.

“Welcome to the fun side of the pitch,” Mars says, spreading her arms and twirling in a circle, and Valentine laughs, joining her.

“Focus!” Daphne barks, suddenly passing the ball to Jason. He dribbles up fast, easily beating Mars, who’s caught off guard. Valentine, who’s recovered quicker, attempts to wrestle back the ball, but Jason's momentum quickly pushes him by her, and you’re suddenly the last defender in place.

You get a read on Jason and make your attempt, trying to **** the ball off the sidelines. Jason, seeing you approach, takes no chances and crosses it over to Daphne. She’s unmarked, the pass is smooth, and all of a sudden it’s a one on one between her and Keegan. He’s got his palms ready, eyes carefully tracking Daphne, and when she shoots, he dives off to the left.

It’s the right direction, but the ball’s just a hair too fast, and it brushes by his fingertips and soars into the goal.

“You dropped a goal in ten seconds while you were up two people,” Daphne says. She shakes her head, disappointed. “Keegan, get me the ball and head over to the other net. I do not want to see you back here in another ten seconds.”

Keegan hurriedly nods and passes the ball back to Daphne, who brings the ball back over to a spot halfway between the box and the centre line.

“I’ll give you five seconds to find your mark,” Daphne says. “Five. Four. Three…”

Mars and Valentine both rush to get Daphne, leaving you to get Jason. The large guy immediately starts jogging towards the sideline, making space away from you, and the two of you jostle about as he tries to get open.

It ends up not mattering. Daphne’s got serious talent, and though Mars and Val know what they’re doing, she single-handedly beats both of them with ease, earning herself a clear shot at the net.

“Damn, we’ve got to do something different,” Mars says after retrieving the ball. You and Val come in to discuss.

“Why don’t you try marking Jason instead, Val,” you suggest. “Maybe you can distract him with your… feminine wiles.”

“What you’re really saying is that we suck at marking Daphne, and that you would do a better job than me at it,” Val says, and you start to protest, but she holds up a hand. “No need to say anything; I agree with you fully.”

With that, she heads over to Jason, and Daphne sizes you up as you approach her instead. She nods, looking impressed with what she sees, and all of a sudden, she starts, dribbling forward with a burst of speed. Quick on your heels, you turn to follow her, Mars already left behind, and with a quick cut in, you manage to separate Daphne from the ball.

The two of you sprint after the open ball, and you notice Jason going deep in your peripheral vision. Daphne’s crazy fast, but she is a girl, and you’re able to outstrip her, getting the first touch onto the ball. You clear it, punting it off the side, and Daphne grudgingly nods.

“Well played,” she says. “And good job, you three, for coming up with a better strategy. That’s what we want to see on the field—constant innovation!”

You run through the drill a few more times, but with your new strategy, the three of you hold strong, and Daphne and Jason end the practice having only scored those two initial goals. Keegan, when he’s over on your side of the pitch, never even has to touch the ball.
