Chapter 12 by Wulfblade Wulfblade

Do they move quickly or carefully?

Quickly

They quickly dash forward into the chamber. It is a medium-sized room of 30 to 40 feet, with seemingly nothing in it except a doorway leading into another hall on the other side, and a black gem embedded in the wall above it. The floor and walls of the room are intersected by a gridded pattern, the slits reaching several inches deep, as if a net had carved its way into all the surfaces like a hot knife through butter.

Though Diana has to constantly keep a hand on her pants to keep them from slipping, Tyra and Diana quickly rush forwards, reaching and retrieving their weapons from the floor. A few seconds after they do, they hear creaking and writhing from the various sides of the chamber, the sound of bark scraping against stone. Vines burst out of the stonework from all sides through the grids and begin lashing out towards the adventurers, attempting to reach for their limbs and tearing at their garments.

Tyra lashes out with her hammer, attempting to batter the plants aside, but the weapon is illsuited for this foe and quickly a series of thick vines from the floor and ceiling wrap around her arms and legs and lift her one or two feet into the air, grappling with her as she violently wrestles her arms trying to get free.

How do they deal with the vines?
