Tries to play catch-up

Steve decided to try to make some conversation to get his bearings. "So, uh, everyone's a little less dressed than usual this morning." He blinked. "Did you all go get changed after you got up?"

Annie shrugged. "I decided that my pyjama bottoms needed to go into the laundry, so I took them off." End of discussion, as far as she was concerned.

Elena smiled with confusion. "I wear a nightgown every morning, don't I?"

Steve nodded. "Yeah, but you usually keep it closed. And I'm guessing that normally you are wearing something underneath."

Elena shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. Same as Annie though, I figured that I should put my underwear in the laundry."

Steve pressed on. "And you left your gown open?"

Elena shrugged, showing off a little bit more of her cleavage and collar bones. "Guess so?"

Steve turned to Franzi. "I am pretty sure that you don't normally walk around here naked."

Franzi shrugged. "I sleep naked and usually dress up for breakfast. I came downstairs early today for a glass of water and just decided not to bother dressing up. I just decided there's no point."

Steve was surprised by Franzi's matter-of-fact admission. "I'm surprised you're comfortable telling me that, Franzi."

Franzi frowned. "What do you mean? It's not like you couldn't have come into my bedroom and found out for yourself. It's not like it's something I need to keep secret."

Steve was surprised again, and Elena noticed. "Ho-ho, Steve liked that idea! Did you see his penis jump up? Bet you Steve's going to crawl into your bed tonight, Franzi."

Franzi reached over to caress Elena's cheek. "Maybe, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's obvious that Steve likes Annie more. I mean, he made a token effort with me even though I'm showing off all the goods, but he went in for the full kiss with her."

Elena reached to stroke Franzi's leg. "He kissed me just now too, you know. He liked it too, I felt it."

"You kissed him," Franzi corrected her. "Big difference. I nearly had to ask you to get rid of your gown too."

Annie started teasing in sing-song. "Elena likes Stevie! Elena likes Stevie!" Franzi joined in for one more round of the chant before they started laughing. Elena shook her head in mock exasperation.

Steve turned to the cupboard and contemplated breakfast.
