Chapter 3 by Warped-Wrist Warped-Wrist

Do you chase? Let her run?

Chase her down

Shit. If I let her go, HQ will grill me six ways to Sunday. I better catch her. I take off after her as fast as I can but her lithe frame makes catching up a tricky task. She peeks over her shoulder at me and a face of abject horror washes over her cute boyish face. She faces forward and scrambles over a railing heading to the upper level of the subway station.

Fuck. She's quick. I barrel past the tracks, hopping over each before jumping up onto the platform. If I can cut her off before she exits the subway I might just catch her. Up the stairs!

I turn the corner of the stairwell and stop dead in the middle of a silent and empty transit. It's eerily quiet. Not a single passenger waiting. No porters. No signs of life anywhere. The lights are dim and there's one flickering bulb at the end of a dark corridor. I don't like the feeling of this. I need to get out of the open - but I also don't want to lose too much ground to the fleeing pixie chick.

Decisions, decisions. I duck behind the benches nearby and crouch walk my way towards the end of the row. I don't know why I'm hiding like this - but the hairs on my neck are standing up and I have bad feeling about this.

"OH GOD NOOO! PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!" a voice screams out down the dark corridor.

I know that voice. It's that girl. I have to catch her but it seems like something already beat me there. How do I proceed. Time's ticking...

I could go directly down the tracks and illuminate it with a flash orb. I hope whatever is down there with her isn't too much of a nasty surprise.

OR

I could try to crouch behind the booth and stealthily make my way to the back as fast as I can in the dark. It might be safer for me but it will definitely be slower. I hope whatever is down there with her doesn't get hasty.

What's the plan Hartwell? Direct route or sneak your way there?
