Go home

In the end, I couldn't bring myself to live out the rest of my life in an institution. The doctor understood, but still supplied me with paperwork detailing the process and the facility, in case I changed my mind.

Once we were done, he guided me out of the hospital. I took a deep breath as I stepped outside for the first time in my new body.

"Please, try to be careful Riley."

I nodded. "I will." I **** a smile that didn't feel genuine at all. The doctor looked at me sadly before heading back inside.

With that, I was left with figuring out how to get home. I could take the bus, as I usually did, or call for a Ryde. The Ryde would probably be safer, with driver's rarely talking all that much, but it would cost a lot more money. Normally, that wouldn't be an issue, but I needed to go out and buy myself a whole new wardrobe and... a whole lot of other stuff.
