Decisions...

Janet stared at the bracelet and necklace being offered to her.

Her immediate reaction was to demand control over her own body. She had opted for personal control and keep the damn things on red all the time. Then she could observe, unmolested, the workings of this so-called resort. The piece she had to write when she got back to civilisation would blow this whole sleazy business apart.

Then she made the fatal mistake of thinking about her choices.

Ever since she had left college she had taken charge of her own life. Every decision she had made had been geared toward her ultimate ambition – a Pulitzer prize. Which job to apply for, who to impress, who to sleep with. Decisions, decisions. All the time.

The idea of a job where the most important decisions were out of her hands was attractive. She could just wear the necklace and immerse herself in the resort. She would still get her story, but without having to try to control everything.

“Er – if I go for remote activation, are there any limits? I mean, when I’m green, can any man do anything he likes to me?

“And how does activation work outside the protected areas? Can I turn green at any time? How long will I stay green for?”

Even as she asked the questions, Janet realised that simply doing so implied that she was going to go along with this. She reminded herself that she’d had sex before to get a story. This ought to be no different.
