Jessica takes flight once again

Jessica nods slowly. "Alright, I'll come back". She has no intention of returning.

Jade smiles smugly. "Good girl. Should we celebrate by drinking the cattle I smell in the other room?" she asks, looking at the bedroom containing Liya and Carmen.

"No....I want to be the one to finish my servants... Not Elizabeth" Jessica lies.

Jade regards her suspiciously, pausing. "Fine. But tomorrow night, you are to bring the professor the doctor back to Elizabeth's mansion. You are also to bring Sally, who you will drain in at Elizabeth's feet. Kill the rest" Jade says sternly, without any of her earlier laid back warmth.

"Yes" Jessica says, meeting Jade's gaze, trying to convey credibility.

"Jessica, remember that we'll know. We'll find you. Elizabeth is merciful but I doubt she'll extend you a second amnesty if you betray her again" Jade says.

"I know" Jessica replies, her thoughts racing as she tries to conceive of a way out for her and her servants.

Jade gets up and walks toward the door. "I'll be back tomorrow night to gather you and the others" she says, as she strides out the door. "Remember" she say menacingly "we'll know". With that, she is gone and the apartment is silent once more.

Jessica dresses, and assembles her family in Holly's apartment...she doesn't know if the penthouse is safe. She looks over the faces of the frightened women. "We need to leave. Tonight!" Jessica says frantically. "Shreya has arranged vans to take us to the airport, where we'll board a plane to take us to an undisclosed location. Shreya has moved most of her assets into Swiss accounts that even Elizabeth's long reach shouldn't be able to touch. We need to move fast though."

Ambika and Alexis step forward gripping the arms of a brunette in slacks and a sweater. Her mouth is gagged, but she is alert. Ah, the teacher from next door. I need my full strength, and we won't be coming back here... Jessica thinks. Jessica grabs the girl, pulling her hair back behind her to jerk her head back, exposing her neck. Jessica bites down, sucking hard on the teacher's throat as the woman moans into her gag. Warm blood cascades in her mouth, and for a brief moment Jessica forgets her predicament, luxuriating in the rich taste. The teacher is drained after several moments, and Jessica drops her to the ground. No need to clean up anymore. Jessica smiles. "Thank you, Ambika and Alexis...I needed that."

Jessica and the women take the emergency stairs down into the complex's garage, and spot the vans idling. Jessica begins loading women into vans. Sally, Nicole, Lauren, Carmen, Ambika, Alexis, Liya, Monica, Charlotte, Shreya... One more. She turns around for Holly, and her blood freezes. Jade is gripping Holly from behind, a hand on clasped over her mouth tightly, the other wrapped around her chest, gripping her shoulder. Blood pours from Holly's neck across her shirt. Jade's bloody fangs glisten in the fluorescent garage lighting.

"Going somewhere, Jessica?" Jade says smugly to Jessica as Holly starts to go limp in her arms. Jessica is overcome with rage, and lunges as Jade. Jade drops the bleeding Holly, and dodges Jessica's charge. Jessica spins around, the back of her fist catching Jade's jaw. Jessica is on autopilot, she attacks Jade relentlessly, raining blows on the vampiress. Jade sweeps Jessica's leg from under her and Jessica falls to the ground. Jade goes to kick Jessica in the stomach, but Jessica grabs her leg, twisting as hard as she can. There is a snap, and Jade releases an ear curdling scream, falling to the ground.

Jessica leaps off the ground into the back of the open van. "Drive!" She screams.

"Elizabeth won't forget this!" Jade shrieks, clutching her leg.

Yeah, well, we'll see how Elizabeth reacts when she learns that you let me escape Jade... Again Jessica thinks as the vans drive off into the night.
