Test the Remote out in your Living Room

You sit back down on the couch, looking back over the remote with a higher degree of caution. Neon green text blinks on the touchscreen, asking you to select a target.

Looking for something to test the remote on, you point it at the lamp in the corner of the room and tap the screen. "TARGET - LAMP -SELECTED - STANDARD DEVICE CONTROLS ENABLED"

You turn tilt the remote back and look at. On the screen is now a labeled on and off button above a non-descript slider bar. A circular button labeled 'CLEAR SELECTION' sits at the bottom of the screen.

You press on and are mildly surprised when the lamp clicks on. Dragging the slider to the left dims the bulb under the lampshade. You hit off and clear the selection, nodding your head with some limited degree of understanding. "Well, ok then. Now what about...the TV?"

Just before you go to point the remote, the remote's voice chirps in, "TARGET - 32 INCH LED TELEVISION - SELECTED - STANDARD AND ADVANCED CONTROLS ENABLED"

You raise your brow in surprise. Apparently the remote can be voice activated. "Ok... turn on TV." The television clicks on per your command, the evening news mutely playing on screen. "Un-mute the television, remote."

The sound on the television kicks in as you kick your feet up and lean back. You look at the remote face and scroll through the layout of buttons. Holding down what looks like the button to turn up the volume, you nearly jump out of your seat as your 32 inch TV Grows into a 42 inch, knocking over the satellite speakers to either side of it.

"Well shit... I guess that's one of the advanced controls."
