Chapter 11 by Calix Calix

Do you accept that you're now a ?

No, There Is No Way You Can Go Through With This

"I can't Mistress Rose, I can't do this! I don't want to be a ****!" My voice sounds a little more fearful and **** than I had anticipated.

Her demeanor suddenly becomes a lot less welcoming as she folds her arms across her chest.

"You disappoint me, Sara." Her tone emphasizes her statement, though I don't really care.

There is no way in a million years that I would willingly accept such a humiliating and demeaning sentence in order to save my father's pathetic ass. Hell, I would have a hard time doing this to save someone that I actually deeply cared about. I doubt that I'll ever be able to speak to my father again when I get back. How could he knowingly allow his own daughter to be put through something like this? As if he hadn't done enough to hurt me in the past, he decides to essentially sell one of his own family members into slavery in order to save himself. Unbelievable.

"If you feel that you aren't capable of fulfilling your end of the agreement then I am willing to terminate the contract between you and I. That still however, leaves the matter of your father's debt to deal with."

"That's between the two of you. I don't want to be a part of this anymore."

"Of course, you won't need to be involved in any more of our future dealings. You weren't the only volunteer we had, so someone else will take your place instead. I recall you're little sister... Chloe, was it? She was very adamant about wanting to help her father. I'm sure she-"

"Leave her out of this!" I fiercely interrupt, seeing where this is going. There is absolutely no chance that I'd allow Chloe to set foot near this place.

"Of course, I wouldn't want to trouble such a lovely young lady. I hear she's going off to college very soon. Must be a bright girl?"

"How the hell do you know all of this?" I demand, raising my voice as I begin to grow increasingly irritated.

"You will not disrespect me like that!" She asserts. "I know enough to know that your father's lawyer also met with your sister before you came here. He had her sign and agree to a waiver that declares if her heroic older sister decided to not finish her sentence, she could complete the remainder of it to prevent the contract from being violated and nullified."

I'm frozen in shock. Why would she sign something like that?

"I'm perfectly fine with leaving her out of this, Sara. The decision to get her involved is up to you. Whether you decide to stay or go will determine what happens with your sister."

Do you decide to stay?
