Sick Day Part 2

The two spend most of the morning on the lake, working up a hunger for lunch. Once they get back to the house, they find Amy doing her homework.

"You ready for lunch?" Spencer asked.

"Yeah, sure."

"Any excuse to get out of homework, right?" Dani jested, to which Amy smiled.

"Totally."

The three hop into the SUV, where Amy asked "So where we going?"

"I was thinking Thuong Thien."

"Sounds good to me." Dani said.

"Better get used to that place." Amy added a roll of the eyes on top of her sassy tone.

"Well if you keep that up I'm going to have to whip up some tuna casserole instead."

Amy fell silent, causing both Spencer and Dani to chuckle. Amy and Dani spend the rest of the drive discussing the homework Amy had been so eager to flee, before Spencer pulled up in front of Thuong Thien At the table, Amy reads the menu as Spencer took a deep breath. He then looked to Dani who gave him a smile, having a sense of what he was about to say. Amy eyes darted up to the pair, giving her an image of her nervous father. Whilst she boiled it down to him simply being in love, Spencer painted a different picture for her. "We have something to tell you."

"Yeah?"

"Dani's thinking of moving in January."

"Ah, okay." Amy stammered, surprised. "Cool. It'll be cool to have her around."

"Well that's good to hear because I want to be around." The three giggle, before Amy said "I thought you were going to say Dani was pregnant or something."

"Not yet." Dani laughed.

"Ohhhh." Amy's face lit up with a devious grin.

"Uhh, maybe we should look at the menu." Spencer said, **** to steer the conversation just about anywhere else. Even Amy's homework would be more to his liking.

Once everyone calmed down, he smiled, once again feeling at ease with how easily Danielle is integrating into his life. He couldn't believe how his impulsive decision had blossomed into a second chance at love, and he couldn't wait to see what the future had in store for the three of them.
