You stop at an abandoned house before you reach the North

After another day's travels, you spot a house alongside the Kingsroad. There are no lights coming from the windows, nor is there smoke coming from the chimney. The front door is wide open, as well. For all intents and purposes, it seems abandoned.

"Should we investigate, Mummy?" you propose, gazing back at Catelyn Stark.

"Maybe we should," she remarks, "But stay close to me. It could be dangerous."

You are accustomed to danger, but you agree to abide by her wishes. A minute later, you reach the house. As it happens, there is a small stable in the backyard. You secure Aerion in there, and then you and Lady Catelyn go back to the front side of the house and cautiously enter. You keep one hand on the hilt of your sword, prepared to draw it at any moment. Lady Catelyn holds onto your other hand protectively, as though she is ready to help or comfort you for anything.

After a quick sweep of the rooms, you confirm that the house is indeed abandoned. However, it is only empty of people. To your delight and fortune, plenty of provisions were left behind. Fruits, vegetables, grains, preserved meats, fresh water, firewood, and other supplies have been stored there. There is enough food and drink to last for months, perhaps.

You wonder how all these provisions happened to be left behind. It could be possible that the previous tenants had to evacuate fairly quickly.

"We should stay here," Lady Catelyn suggests.

You nod along, saying "I agree. We can stay for a while, at least. As long as no one else comes along and tries to take it from us."

"Should that happen, we'll keep each other safe," she mutters, speaking with such conviction.

Next to the kitchen is the master bedroom. The bed in there is large enough to fit as many as four grown people. That gives you an idea of how you and Lady Catelyn could sleep.
