She sticks to punching and retaliates.

Undeterred by your cheap shots, the Cowgirl brings her guard back up—more cautiously this time—and comes after you. Her blows strike with thunderous ****, jarring you with each impact and driving you back in spite of the firm defense you’re putting up. Bizarrely, she actually seems angered by your failure to stave her off, and her face twists into a frustrated scowl as you turtle up under her hammer-like blows.

“C’mon!” Dinah yells. “Gimme a real fight! You gonna punch me in my titties and then run and hide when I start punchin’ back? You can sure dish it out, but you ain’t got the guts to take it, huh?!”

You’re too busy focusing on your defense to reply, but the announcer has something to say in your place. “It looks like John’s little gambit has backfired on him pretty spectacularly—he wanted to hit his opponent where it hurt, but it seems all that did was piss her off. There aren’t many scarier places to be in the ECL than square in front of the Cowgirl when she’s angry.”

The comment seems to be right on the money. Dinah’s punches are somehow getting even stronger, and you’re not sure how much more you can take. If she manages to break your guard, you’ll be in for a world of hurt.

On the other hand, this all-out offense has to be taking a lot out of her—if you can last just a little longer, she might run out of steam and leave you an opening.
