Chapter 21 by brevdravis brevdravis

The next morning...?

Good Morning, Kaila!

I dreamed of them all that night: Kaila, Helen and Charlotte. It's weird, but I don't recall the exact dream, just images, and feelings. I dreamed of soft kisses, warmth, love, and underneath it all, a tinge of fear.

It was that last little flavor that startled me awake, to find Kaila nestled next to me, her head curled into the pillow and her back to me. She stirred at my motion, slowly rolling over and laying her head on my chest.

"Morning, baby..." She smiled, her eyes still closed. "I feel good..." Her leg slid up to rub against my thigh.

"Hey." I looked down on her, taking in her slightly wild honey-blonde hair. Damn, even with no makeup, uncombed hair, and a sleepy expression, she still looked good. My customary morning wood twitched in appreciation of her beauty.

"You interested?" she purred softly, running her thigh up and down mine in a seductive gesture. "My little pussy wants to play."

"Again?" I asked, coming awake more rapidly. I was hard, but the pressure in my cock was accompanied by an equal pressure in my lower stomach. "I gotta pee..."

"Awww..." she sighed, her leg coming down. "Too bad. I guess I could just pet the kitty myself..." her hand slid down under the sheets.

"Kaila, you could tempt a saint." I teased, reaching to the side of the bed to grab my boxers. "You hungry for breakfast?"

"God, yes!" She laughed, whipping her hand out from under the sheets. "And don't be too long in the bathroom please."

I nodded, pulling on my shorts and a t-shirt that we had left out the night before. I moved to the bedroom door and opened it, looking into the small hall. It was deserted, and so I moved to the bathroom door. I knocked softly on the wood, and hearing no response, opened the bathroom door.

As I took care of business, I absentmindedly noted that the sound of rain had stopped. Perhaps today would bring a change in the weather.

Upon my exit from the bathroom, a green and blonde blur dashed past me with a rapid "thanks dear." I was a tad miffed, since morning was my shower time, and had been for the last year and a half. Prior to that we had always showered together. Of course we still did from time to time, but privacy had become a cherished possession, which both of us were usually loathe to give up.

When Kaila finally relinquished the bathroom, with a freshened smile, I entered again and soaked myself in the experience of a long, hot shower. After last night's rain and the sweat from two incredibly hot sessions of sex, the warm water was a welcome reprieve. Although, I always hated having to wash the sweet smell of my wife from my fingertips.

I dried myself quickly with a towel after the long soak. I returned to the bedroom, and found my wife, zipping up the fly of a pair of shorts. Combined with the "Fighting Elves" t-shirt, she looked downright gorgeous. Of course, I'm biased, I married her.

"So what are you making for breakfast?" She smirked, as I slid on a similar outfit to hers, with the exception of replacing the t-shirt with a polo.

"Oh, I dunno. Thank the gods the gals aren't vegetarians, though." I mused, mentally remembering what we had brought in the bags. Enough for two people for a half a week. We'd probably have to go shopping sooner than we had planned on. "How bout beer?"

"How bout... NO." She said with a grin.

"Kidding, eggs?"

"Better." She nodded, opening the door and gesturing through it. "After you, honey."

We walked down the hall to the main room, opening the final door with some slight trepidation. I was half afraid that we would accidentally walk in on a make out session. Actually, that was what I was hoping, to tell the truth.

However, the main room was pretty much the way we had left it the night before. A lone female shape curled in the soft morning light, concealed under a blanket on the open hide-a-bed. The figure didn't move, and I guessed that we must have just missed the other gal on her way to the bathroom.

Through the front window, I could make out gathering clouds. It appeared that we were in a short lull in the rain, and that sooner or later, it would start up again.

"Want to wake her?" I whispered to Kaila, who nodded her head and moved in the direction of the bed.

I went to the small kitchen, opening the fridge and removing a carton of eggs, when I heard a startled gasp and a sound of a weight settling onto a bed.

I turned at the sound, and saw my wife draped over the figure in the bed, which I now recognized as Charlotte. Her arm was around my wife's waist, and she had obviously pulled her off-balance, onto the bed. There was a moment of fumbling, followed by a shocked cry.

"Oh, my gawd! I'm so sorry!" Charlotte's voice was wide awake, "I'm sorry, really! I was dreamin' about, uh... I just thought you..."

"Were Helen." Came Kaila's muffled reply as she struggled to sit upright.

"Yeah," chuckled Charlotte. "Sorry."

Kaila sat upright, freeing herself from Charlotte's relinquished embrace. She sat on the edge of the bed, looking into Charlotte's eyes.

"You know," She began, after a moments thought. 'I have to know."

I turned back to the fridge, removing a small block of cheese and some butter, before I froze at my wife's next question.

"What would you have done if I was Helen?"

What would she have done?
