Shields up and go in

I raise my shield up and charge in hoping to defend against whatever the goblin has planned. As I step in I hear a loud click followed by a high pitched whining to my left. I glance over to see a small ball with wires and a green light blinking on the top rolling on the ground. I spin and raise my shield in the direction as the light flickers to red before exploding in a powerful fiery blast. My shield absorbs most of the fire and shrapnel, but the **** of the blast knocks me off of my feet and sends me flying back against the wall. I hit hard and feel pain ripple through my head. I try to open my eyes, but the room is spinning and I have slight double vision.

I calm myself and feel the light help clear my head. I open my eyes to see the door I had just come through and the wall next to it were in shambles and the guard that was behind me was covered in stones from the collapsed wall and ceiling.

"Grab her too!" I hear a raspy voice of the goblin call out as I see the backstabbing guard move over towards me.

He leans over to grab me under the assumption that I'm still out of it and I respond to him kindly by smashing him in the head with my shield.

"Ah son of a bitch." He cries out as he stumbles backwards and draws his own sword in the process.

He lunges at me as I get to my feet, but I easily deflect it as I swing with my own mace. I manage to connect with his shoulder piece and send him back a couple more feet. I can see over his shoulder the goblins decide I'm no longer worth it as they climb into their flying device and start to take off.

"Stop!" I yell out, although not really expecting them to listen.

I start to move towards them, but the freaking guard steps back in front of me.

"You bitch!" he yells as he takes another couple of swings at me, but he's weak and his blade bounces off my shield and armor as I step back to avoid a potential lethal hit. I take a couple swings and he manages to parry the mace, but the infused light radiates from the impact hitting him in the face and blinding him. I swing one more time and connect with his helmet, causing the metal to buckle under the impact and the guard falls over. Admittedly I'm not sure if he's dead or just **** and I don't really care. I run to the window and look out to see the silhouette of a basket suspended below a large balloon. There's a small flame in the middle and I can barely make out two goblins piloting it.

"Damnit..." I curse as I turn to head back towards the stairs.

There's a lot of debris blocking the way, but I can make it down the stairs when I catch the guard that had followed me up. I remember some of my training and wonder if I could possibly save him, but I know with every minute they kidnappers are getting further away.
