Two and two. Split the seating.

Sagus looked at the girls. "Whatever you want to do, ladies."

Marianne and Rebecca claimed indifference, though everyone knew better about the former. Sophie, who never saw much point in trying to keep two people who so obviously liked one another apart, suggested that she and Rebecca get a table and discuss new special arrows.

"But...but then I would be sitting with...!"

"You don't mind, do you, Marianne? I'm sure Sagus won't try anything TOO fresh with you. Not in a classy joint like this." Sophie winked as the maitre d' subtly rolled his eyes at her use of the word 'joint'.

"I-I guess not." She blushed just slightly.

"Very good, then, sir and madams. Right this way, please." The maitre d' led them to a table for two.

"We'll take this one. You two lovebirds can take the next one, okay?" Sagus didn't react to the 'lovebirds' line, though Marianne tried and failed to respond until she was out of Sophie's earshot. She and Sagus were seated at a table, made of marble and covered with a white silk tablecloth. They both ordered a steak, some sort of side the waiter described almost mockingly as 'potatoes and rice in cheese sauce', then sat silently, smiling at each other uncomfortably.
