Follow the remaining Bravos

Fuu and Emmaline walked along the road, keeping the still dazed Robin in tow. The somber mood that hung over them was well suited to the dark and dreary scenery of the swamp.

Though they've seen no more Lizardfolk since fleeing the caravan, they couldn't help but feel that the scaly beasts were still on their trail, watching them at every turn, like hunted animals. Though the canopy of the trees blocking over the road, Fuu could see that the sun was setting. It would be dark before long...

Fuu wasn't sure how much longer her soothing spell would last on Robin, but she was certain that her naive, yet righteous ally would have some words to say about willfully abandoning a friend. The gnawing guilt in Robin's stomach dreaded the looming confrontation. To make matters worse, there had been no sign of Becky. Fuu could only pray that she was safe.

Still, she knew how dangerous it would be to stay exposed on the road at night, so Fuu distracted herself by considering her options.

There seemed to be an old temple nearby, just to the side of the road. Fuu didn't know much about the area, but as a woman of faith, holy places held a certain sense of safety for her. It was a long shot, but there was even some small chance that there might be holy artifacts or allies to be gained in such a place, something to give them the edge in rescuing Liv.

Another nearby trail seemed to lead up to a high plateau nearby. While the journey there might be dangerous, the high ground should be more defensible than staying here, and certainly carried less risk of ambush or dark magics than the abandoned church. Perhaps they could rest there for the night, then figure out how to rescue Liv come morning light.

The final option she considered was pushing on down the trail. Eventually, it would open up into a well fortified village--practically a fortress within the swamp, and the intended destination of the Caravan they had been traveling with. There, they would be able to rest up and resupply in guaranteed safety, though Fuu was unsure how far it was, or how long they would need to press on into the night to reach the village.
