Walk on along the creek

You consider it far too dangerous. You walk on along the river and look at your map. The next thing that is depicted on your map is a bridge leading over the river half a mile downstream.

You drink another handful of the water and then walk on. The sun rises up and while going all the way down to the bridge you only see the forest on the right and the stream on the left.

Eventually, you arrive at a little bridge looking like a mixture of a regular bridge and a rope bridge. Innocently you go onto the bridge, when a dwarf appears out of nowhere.

“Halt!” he announces. “None shall pass without giving me something.”

“I don’t have anything,” you say, angry that you are again in such a situation.

“I am generous today. Just hand me one of your clothes and I will let you go on.”

You don’t have any chance. “Fine,” you say without further ado. “You can have my …” You pause. You don’t have anything to give him. You need your shoes and your pants and tunic. You also need the belt to hold your sword.

“I am sorry, then,” the dwarf says. “No passing.”

“Wait!” you call. There’s one piece you don’t really need. You take off your tunic and hand it over to him. The dwarf looks at your boobs.

“Go on.” Having said that, he disappears as quickly as he appeared. It’s cold, but soon you should be at the Mystic Ponds. And till then you will stand the cold. Hopefully.
