Mystery Box

Cassandra is dazed for a moment before she gets her bearing and stands up. She looks to the man who is quickly walking towards her, his eyes are a deep dark black. "I've been watching you!" He says in the same snake-like voice Cassandra heard at the site of the accident. The man takes a swing at her, but she moves out of the way, just barely avoiding the fist.

A loud crack is heard as Cassandra punches the man straight in the chest. The man sails through the store, sliding as he hits the floor. He gives out a wheezing laugh as he lays there. Cassandra walks over to the downed man, "What do you want from me?!" She shouts. The man looks to her, "Everything." The black fades from his eyes as the body goes limp.

Cassandra checks for a pulse, but finds none. She goes to a nearby payphone and calls the police before heading back into the laundromat. As she sits there waiting for her costume to be done, she sees the cops show up next door. They eventually enter the laundromat and start asking people if they saw anything.

One of the officers comes up to Cassandra and ask her if she noticed anything strange. She tells him that she was in there earlier, but nothing out of the ordinary occurred. The cops finish their questioning and leave. As soon as her costume is finished, Cassandra exits in a hurry. She returns to her motel room and puts her costume back on under her clothes.

A few minutes later there is a knock on her door. She goes over and opens the door only to see a small box sitting there. Cassandra looks around and sees no one around. She grabs the box and takes it inside. She carefully opens the box and inside is a rolled up piece of paper and a silver necklace with a crescent-shaped diamond pendant.

The note tells her to wear the necklace and go to the warehouse on Green street at 8pm. Cassandra is wary of this mysterious invitation and wonders if she should even go.
