The dark jungle disorients the Bravos

There were few signs of travel, just little things here and there - a scratch in tree bark, a crushed leaf on a fern, half a reptilian footprint, slowly filling with mud. It was sparse, but enough to keep them moving, further and further form the safety and civilization of the trail, and deeper into the untamed jungle.

As the Bravos got further from the treeline, and the canopy overhead grew darker the sunlight was blocked out more and more, until they were walking in night-blackness...

Of all the members of the group, Becky was the most familiar traveling in near pitch-black conditions, and her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness. Even better, the newfound shadows made it almost too easy for her to disappear into the bursh-line, becoming near invisible to the casual observer as the continued forward.

The rest of the group, however, was less adapted to the darkness. Rather than stumble along completely blind Emmaline decided to light a small flame, hovering just above her fingertip and angled to shine light on the ground as best she could.

The group continued forward, following Becky as best they could, with the stealthy alchemist popping back to the rest of the group every now and again to make sure they still knew where she was.

Before long, they found themselves entering a clearing, the trees overhead allowing just enough sunlight in that they could see eachother comfortably again.

"We should just give up." Liv said, exasperated by how severely the darkness limited her vision. "I know we were gonna take the fight to them, or whatever, but at this rate, we're gonna stumble into them blind. We'll God damn ambush ourselves!"
