I know the feeling.

"I know the feeling," you say. "My parents just left, I've been walking around the campus, checking things out, care to join me?"
She says nothing, but looks like she's fighting tears.
"I'm going to get something to eat, do you want to come with me?" you say again.
"I'm sorry," she says with a southern drawl. "It's just kind of hard."
"I know, I miss my parents too," you tell her. "Do you want to take a walk, or get something to eat, or talk, or what?" you ask.
