Captain Lexa comes to bargain

For all I know, no one is coming to rescue me. None of my magic works against the door. To the best of my knowledge, I'll be here for the rest of my days. No food, no guards, and maybe even no trial. All I can do is spend the rest of my days hopelessly rotting away.

That's when I hear footsteps. I'll take anything, even an executioner. As the footsteps approach, I see the illumination of some sort of torch or lantern, followed by the jingle of keys. I look out to see Captain Lexa, holding a torch.

"Sorry, I didn't know nobody was here."

"What difference does it make?"

"Well, you're in luck, sellsword."

"Uhh, I don't follow."

"I need some help and you're the only person I can trust."

"You must be truly **** then."

"I am. I suspect my guard may have added those who stole your merchant's goods."

"Is she still here?"

"No, I believe she's fled town."

My heart sinks as does my head. I've failed Ming Zhao and now she might never forgive me.

"You want to impress her, you can help me get her inventory back. Deal?"

"What do I have to lose?"

Lexa unlocks the cell. "Come with me, we need to find a uniform that fits you. Unfortunately, I can't have you running around naked out there."
