A flashback

You look up at the dark, meanacing figure of Saber as she looms your impending doom over you. Still, her hand stays. Within Saber's mind, the feeling of Avalon stirs. Once, a stalwart beacon of light against the darkness, now a mere flicker of candlelight; waiting to be snuffed out by her hand.

Thougts stir in Saber's mind, staying her hand. She looks at you and at her sword differently than she's ever looked at you. As if she begins to remember.

POV shift:: Saber's Mind

Thoughts begin to swirl around in the bleak emptiness of your mind. Thoughts of an older time. Of a just King. Of protecting the weak and innocent; much like the life that lays before your eyes. You remember. You are King Arthur. Your servants, nay, your equals, around the Round Table. You treasure and treat each as equals. You remember your summoning to the Grail. The promise of peace to your Kingdom and of your people.

Most importantly, you remember yourself. Then, blackness begins to pour into your heart. You fight to no avail. Avalon, where could it be? It would protect you. It would.... Blackness. Zouken Matou. ****. Evil. Kill. The evil that man exudes knows no bounds. It consumes you. Transforms you. Into this. You break your bonds of Darkness with the power of your will, as if an imaginary chain shatters.

POV shift: Shirou.

Several minutes have passed with no change. Saber remains looming over you, threatening your immenent ****. "What are you waiting for!?" Shinji screeches. Saber doesn't budge. With both Saber and Shinji distracted, you see Rider beginning to raise her nail-chain.

"Kill him! Now!" Shinji yells. Saber lowers her weapon and turns around and just begins to walk away. You look up at her in shock. You have NO IDEA what just happened, other than Saber just disobeyed her Master. "You useless servant! I'll show you!" Shinji grates as he pulls out a book with command seals on it. "Disobey this! Saber, I command you to kill Shirou Emiya!" Shinji says as a seal on the book burns away.
