Berserker vs Archer: pre-fight banter

A/N: The mandatory pre-fight banter chapter. Action next chapter!

Rin and her servant Archer have had a busy night. Little do they know, their night was about to get a lot busier, in a big way. The duo has just finished investing the Temple where Caster was thought to be hiding. "It is confirmed we have found Assassin, Master. He is guarding the stairs that lead to the Temple. We won't be able to get to Caster with him in the way. As you requested, I did not engage Assassin."

Rin nods as the pair begin to work their way away from the Temple. "Good work Archer. We'll -" A laugh echos though there cold night air. "Hoo, hoo, hoo~ Look what we have here. A servant and her Master coming to check out our prey. I'd bet you're in league with Caster as well." A young girl's voice echos throughout the area.

"Archer." She says, backing into her servant. "Illyasviel von Einzbern. And her servant, Berserker. They have us surrounded." Illya walks in with a grin. "My my, you managed to spot me. "What do you want?" Rin asks. "Why, to kill you, of course. " Illya's grin widens further, showing off her teeth. "If you beg now and become my thrall, I'll have Berserker kill you quickly.."

"Not a chance." Rin replies. "Too bad~" Ilya sings. "At least Berserker will get to have a little fun before he kills you." A pause, "BERSERKER!" Ilya calls. The hulking grey mass of a servant materializes in front of Ilya. Archer takes a defensive stance in front of Rin as she readies her best gems. "No, Rin. You'll run out out gems before he runs out of lives. Save them to power me up when I use my Noble Phantasm. I'm going to need all the Mana I can get."

Rin nods and slips the gems back where they came from. "Good luck. I believe in you." Rin says. "Hopefully we won't need luck." Archer says a he readies his dual blades. "But I appreciate the sentiment."
