Winning state and national championships, Kate Ambers was an accomplished swimmer. Never one to back down, Kate has only two elements on her wall of fame, silver and gold. No ribbons or tiny congratulatory medals painted gold, she pushed herself to be the best. Eventually her efforts were rewarded. It was announced that Kate was qualified to be in the Olympics as a part of team USA's swim team.

Her friends and family were happy for her, all except Allison Darling. Allison was always one step behind Kate. Whereas Kates wall consisted of 3 silver and 22 gold trophies, Allison happened to have the exact opposite. What sets these two women apart is the fact that where Kate works to be the best, Allison buys her fame, whether from underhanded cheating or bribery. Being the daughter of a business tycoon put the fear of god in whoever was in Allison's way. The problem is Kate was the states chosen olympian.
