A Chimney Sweep, A Chamber Maid, An Orc Lass, And A Whore...

The four were peasants one and all, fleeing the hard lives of poverty and suffering they had known up untill now.

The one male of their group was a human chimney sweep by the name of Matthew Banks, who had discovered two weeks ago, the day after his 18th birthday, that he was at last too big for the chimney sweeping trade. Knowing nothing about any other profession he had been contemplating suicide when the second member of the group proposed that they form a party and go to the academy...

That second member was an elf by the name of Ha'Jaria, formerly a chambermaid to a noble Elven family that had been one of Matthew's sweeping clients. She was stupid in love with Matthew, and had abandoned a good job with room for advancement to follow a dream of bearing his children... Like many Elves Ha'Jaria had a trace of native magic; weather the school could train her into a useful combat caster remained to be seen...

The third individual was an Orcish Lass by the name of Gogmok. She had met the two of them in a tavern where they were advertising for a party to accompany them to the academy. She was fleeing an abusive family, who treated her like a poorly trained guard dog because she had not married and had children, something she had no interest in, as the poetry of sapho was the only one that filled her heart with lust...

The last was another recruit from the tavern, a halfling whore named Beth 'Thunder-Tits' Proudfoot. She had a dozen diseases, though fortunately none especially advanced, and was along in this trip mostly to receive the free healing the school offered. However, she also was skilled enough at pickpocketing and other criminal arts to serve as the party theif...

Four members, the smallest party the school would accept, and of them only one was looking forward to the school's reputation for permissive attitudes and promiscuous students...
