Chapter 14
by SeriousBrainDamage
"What's the charge?"
" dealing!"
Answers Marshal Bisaglia with his unmistakeble burly voice from the doorway.
Surprised, they both turn to him at the same time.
He's grinning smugly and holds in front of him a plastic bag no bigger than his hand containing what seems to be dryed sage.
"What?" Squeal Vanessa confused.
"What's that, Bisaglia?" Asks the Captain without easing his grip.
"What seems to you? We were right Captain."
The Captain takes the bag in his hand, weighing it, and moves out of the bathroom, pulling Vanessa with him.
"Hey, that's not mine!"
"Where did you found it?" He asks entering the double bedroom on the right.
"I found it in the kitchen. It was easy. There was a thick coat of dust all around the shelves so i quickly spotted a bunch of fingerprints on this one little pot. The bags was tucked inside."
"Good work, Bisaglia."
Rudely the Captain tosses her on the large bedroom.
Vanessa feels the panic overlwhelm her.
She's trapped.
The two officer stand between her and the door.
"Now to you, Miss Valle ... this changes your position quite a bit. I didn't get why you were lying before, but i think i'm starting to get it ..."
"If i may, Captain ... The fingerprints looked fresh. The bag has been moved there recently ... I suspect the girl ..."
Randelli stops him with a gesture.
"So, when we rang the doorbell, you came to open us. The story of the shower is just a bullshit! When you saw it was the police, you realized you had to hide this." He explains dangling the bag in fron of her.
Vannesa widens her eyes speechless.
"So you invented and excuse and rushed to hide this stuff. Maybe you were actually going to sunbathe ... so you put on all this show. It was a nice show, i have to admit though." Concludes the man with a grin that seeps through Vanessa's spine.
"T-That's not how it went! That's stuff it's not mine!"
Suddnely and idea forms in her mind.
"You ... you did set me up, didn't you?"
