Aliénor

Ah...the strong-willed captain. Aliénor. That was her name, if you recall correctly. She is beautiful, and seems calm in spite of the situation, but you question her choice of armement. The tip of her spear is exceedingly sharp, and the six-foot long shaft offers a good reach, but the weapon may prove brittle, and you consider the weapon too cumbersome for a lone fighter. If such a choice proves her downfall, you doubt her current composure will last long.

Aliénor finds herself at a three-way junction, with separate corridors stretching out to her left and right, the final one coiling away in front of her. She opens her mouth, as if to say something, but then thinks better of it. Instead, she spends several seconds pondering over each option, before setting off abruptly down the right-most pathway. You find yourself mildly annoyed by her presumptuous confidence, but console yourself with another glance at your seeing stone. You bring up an image of the labyrinth's layout. Three yellow dots display the positions of your guests, Aliénor being to the far south of the maze's centre. A large red dot not too far from her signifies the presence of a group of your dungeon's denizens. If Aliénor follows the path she has chosen, her adventure may end earlier than even you anticipated.

It doesn't take very long before the two dots collide on your projection, and you return your attention to the present. A cackling set of voices echoes audibly throughout the corridor as Aliénor nears the first bend in the road, beyond which she cannot see. She kneels and grips her spear tightly before advancing the length of the path and turning to face the unseen enemy.
