Papa Dragon's Story Time...

"No, I don't think so," Shannon McDonald said, eyeing the sun, "we couldn't March your troops to even the nearest village, and the one we have to start with is not the one closest by..."

"Well, I am not weary, having rested last night and some this morning, so what do you propose we do with the rest of the day and evening?" Hehrakkess asked.

"Well; I would like to hear some more of that book I looked at earlier, it seemed interesting," Illiamdia'ae replied, her eyes shielded from the glaring dessert sun by a pair of smoked goggles.

"You said 'hear' and not 'read' why?" Hehrakkess asked.

"It's part of your hoard, is it not? I would not dream of touching it again on so short an acquaintance..." Illiamdia'ae replied.

"Both beautiful and polite, I think I will grow to like you a great deal..." Hehrakkess muttered in his deep draconic voice, and began stalking back to the entrance around the base of the massif.

With a collective shrug the Adventurers followed...

Along the way Hehrakkess picked up one of his Kobold minions, his chief librarian...

Upon reaching his personal chambers again Hehrakkess went to the exact shelf and pulled down the copy in question of "The Innsbruck Chronicles; Volume 3: The Old Woodsman's Tales."

"This volume has been in my possession for many years, I have taken great amusement in reading the tales herein of the Adventurers of the honest woodsman and his dragon companion, for I had thought them utterly ridiculous. Now I find myself wondering how large the grain of truth at the center of the story is..." Hehrakkess began.

"We will begin at the beginning, chapter one, page one:" Hehrakkess said and Kilesh began to turn the pages for him.

Hehrakkess began to read, "It was a fair and sunny day when Jorvik, the old woodsman, stumbled into the inn, bleeding from a dozen wounds..."
