The boys weren't actully boy but young men coming into manhood. Ounce the reach manhood in other cities they were sometime sent to Gordor to learn a craft at the various magic university. The school doesnt have any women student because they think it be distracted, they even frown on masterbation, if the student get caught doing that they are kicked out.
