Steal it

Lurking in the back alleys until sunset, you find where the prime theft target is. While your home village wasn't a hub for merchants or nobles, or rather because of it, it did become a place thieve on the run visited. You talked to some of them, and they taught you a few tricks, like how a target can't be so rich they have guards but have to be rich enough that there's stuff worth stealing.

Having found your target, you avoid a few guard patrols and climb over the wall. The house, a large but old house on the towns north side, has a large yard but you didn't see any sign of guards, so you took the risk.

You creep around the side of the house until you find an open window. Pushing yourself through just as a guard patrol arrives on the street at the bottom of the hill, you're starting to feel the rush of adrenaline those thieves described.

Looking around, it appears that you're in an empty bedroom. You see stairs leading up right outside the door across a hallway that presumably leads to other parts of the house.
