Keep Walking

Seeing something like this just reinforces to you that you need to get home right now. With a call over the shoulder that you hope she feels better you keep on walking. Moving faster and faster as guilt and confusion start to catch up with you. No matter how much you tell yourself that you did not do anything wrong you still feel bad.

So caught up in your own thoughts are you that you don’t really pay too much attention to where you are going. More by luck than judgment however you find yourself back at the entrance to the park. Now there are fewer people around, it seems like a lot of those people had only come here for lunch.

Walking fast you head into the park and quickly realise that you are coming at it from the opposite side to the one you left by. The change of angle leaves you disoriented as you wander through the rolling hills trying to pick out the correct stand of trees.

As you walk you run across a man and woman, the man looks to be in his mid forties and the woman looks like she isn’t a day over 20. She is flat on her stomach on the grass with him on top of her and it takes you a second to realise what you are looking at as he thrusts down into her.

You avert your gaze even as you hear the sounds of their bodies slapping together and his grunting as he uses her.

Your heart is pounding when you finally find the correct stand of trees. Looking at it in the afternoon light you spot that same slight flicker in the air that you had seen on the other side. Relief washes over you as you realise that means it hasn’t closed yet.
