The Potion of Desire

"Uh... is that supposed to be... glowing?" Marigold asked as she carefully picked up the water bottle.

"Oh, don't you worry about that! That's just some special dye for effect!" Fizz reassured her. "What's special is the filter inside the cap and nozzle! Anything that goes through that filter will come out as crisp, clean water! With a little twist, of course."

That didn't exactly set Marigold's mind at ease. "What kind of twist?" she asked hesitantly.

"Nothing dangerous, I assure you! Let's just say that it should help with your confidence, and before you ask, no, it's not ****." Fizz explained before hurrying Marigold out of the room. "Now, I'm sorry to send you away so abruptly, but I'm supposed to be making sure our Mekgineer's battle armor is ready for the Blizzard shoot!"

Marigold didn't protest too much to Fizz's hurrying and prodding. She knew how important getting props ready in time was for serious cosplayers, after all, and so she couldn't really blame the man for being in a rush. Instead, she studied her new gift curiously. Just a fancy filter, apparently, but that seemed like an odd gift to be mixed in with the other items she'd been offered.

"Some kind of new medicine, Doc?" Kiona asked, surprising Marigold out of her thoughts and back to reality. "Not sure Mercy is the type to have people drink glowing green mystery potion."

Marigold quickly explained how she'd come to have the strange bottle. The incident with her wings, their miraculous repair, and Fizz's kind offer of a gift. Once Marigold explained that the green glow was apparently just for effect and the bottle was just water, Kiona's eyes lit up.

"Hope you don't mind if I take a sip." Kiona said as she snatched the bottle from Marigold's hands. "I'm boiling inside all this armor."

Kiona squeezed the bottle's contents into her open mouth. What came out was indeed clear despite being green inside the bottle. It certainly tasted like water and refreshed her appropriately too. But something wasn't quite right.

Kiona's eyes dilated just a tad, sparking Marigold's worry. The flush that came to the kickboxer's cheeks weren't helping matters either.

"Kiona? Are you alright?" Marigold asked, leaning in close to try and figure out what was happening to her friend.
