Lie

You don’t even really think about it when you start lying to the Officer, reeling off a list of names and places. You might not know where the hell you are or how you got here but you know a bad rap when you see one. You slip into the role of the embarrassed teen caught out with a fake ID.

She stands and listens to you babble on, noting down the names you give her, before finally flipping her notebook closed.

“Thanks for the help.” She says insincerely, you can already tell that she knows this will be wild goose chase. You get the feeling that the only reason she took these notes is so if anyone asks her about this little chat she will have an excuse. “The nearest clothes shop is just down the way there.” She adds, pointing out of the gateway to the park and towards what looks like a row of shops. “You should go and get something more appropriate right now, not all my colleagues are as understanding as me.”

You nod, playing up your thanks as you walk quickly away in the direction she is pointing. You don’t look back as you walk, instead keeping your head down as you try to put as much distance between yourself and her as you can.

When you finally are able to turn a corner you stop and try to catch your breath. That was the closets you have come to getting arrested in a long time and it set your heart racing in the worst possible way.

You take in the rest of the street as you think about what she said, something about needing more ‘Appropriate’ clothing. Looking around on the street you see a few women walking along, all of them either nude or so close as to make no difference. Is this what they consider to be appropriate around here?

You see that you are opposite the clothes shop that the had been pointed out. You get the feeling that you should try and avoid drawing attention until you can get your bearings on what is going on. You also still have your wallet with some cash so maybe you can get something, of course you have to wonder if your money would even work here.
