Talk to him

"Can I talk to you for a moment, sir?" Sally blurted as she stood up and went to the man. He looked at her in polite surprise but nodded and followed her as she took a few steps away from Jenna.

"She doesn't know about this place," Sally whispered. "We were kind of tricked into coming here, and it's her first day so she doesn't know. I found out and I was going to tell her just now when you came up."

"And why does this matter to me?" he asked politely.

"She's... she's lesbian... and if you get heavy she'll freak out... and she's my friend... and..." Sally's voice started to tremble as her emotions got away with her. She felt tears starting to build in her eyes and struggled not to cry as the man looked at her calmly, clearly making up his mind.
