Chapter 4 by ofhabit ofhabit

How was the line crossed?

Cat nap

My first encounter with Cat was a pretty normal one; we lived in the same hall, and were moving in at the same time in the morning at the beginning of the year. My first impression that she was a very attractive girl, a cute little skinny blonde with a big smile and the tendency to wear tight clothing (she was wearing a pair of relatively short shorts and a form fitting t-shirt). I welcomed her to the school, she thanked me, we continued our respective moving-in.

My second encounter, later on that same day, was far less "normal." It was early afternoon, a little after lunchtime. It was hot outside, and I was tired from moving all my stuff up to my room, so after I had all the boxes in my room, I partially unpacked the box with the bedding, set up my bed, dug out a fan, and laid down on the bed for a little rest. It was hot enough outside that I was having a hard time dozing off, so I took off my shirt and cracked the door open a little bit for better air flow, then laid back down on top of my sheets. I dozed off in the hazy sunlight.

I woke up to hear a knock on my door. I rolled my head over, and could see a smiling face peering at me through the slightly opened doorway. "Come in," I slurred, as I sat up to see who it was.

It was Cat. I remembered her from bumping into her that morning. I asked how setting up her room was, and she looked around at all my unopened boxes and laughed, and said that it was going better than my room. I shrugged. "Anyway," she said, "I just knocked because I noticed your door was open as I was walking by, and no one else seems to be here, and so I looked in through the doorway, I know I probably shouldn't have done that, but anyway. I saw that you were taking a nap, and I'm sorry I woke you up, really I am sorry, but I just wanted to say that I love naps. And I wondered if I could take a nap with you."

She spoke quickly, and tossed her hair slightly at the end of each phrase, which was distracting (in a good way), but I was with her right up until the last sentence. "I, uh, what? Nap with me?" I stammered.

"Yeah, you know, nothing SEXUAL or anything, I just love taking naps with people, don't you?" She looked at me, and I could not read the look that was in her eye.

Well, I certainly liked lying on a bed with a girl, if that was the question. I don't think I had ever taken any "naps" with girls that did not at some point, during at least some of the naps, involve fooling around. I had a suspicion that this animated first year student might be asking for a platonic nap, but, all in all, I didn't particularly care. It had been a while since I had been with a girl, and any sort of contact would be welcome, even if it wasn't SEXUAL (I smiled as I remembered the emphasis she had put on that word).

"Sure. I'm just lying here." I laid back down.

Cat almost immediately jumped up and skittered over to my bed. She laid down next to me on her side, facing me, her legs pressed against the side of mine, her chest against my arm, her head on my shoulder and her top arm flung across my bare chest. I had not at all expected her to snuggle up to me to the degree that she had, and I was somewhat surprised. I didn't say anything though; I decided to just let it be the way it was. It felt quite nice ... the smooth skin of her legs pressed against mine, her chest lightly heaving, her breath softly drifting across my cheek. I was uncomfortable more with the intimacy of having her face so close to mine than with anything else. I drifted to sleep.

I awoke again to feel her getting up. I glanced over at the clock, and saw that an hour and a half had passed. I looked back at Cat, who smiled back when I glanced at her.

"Well, stranger, that was nice. I do so love napping. I look forward to having another one." She turned and left the room.

But that was just my second encounter with her ...

I remember ...
