The science experiments sound cool! Ignore the fire stuff.

It was at 8PM that Kenny found himself stood outside an old warehouse, the wind blowing eerily through the shattered windows around the iron shutter doors. Old wrappers and leaves blustered around Kenny's feet as he stared upwards at the intimidating structure that seemed to have been abandoned long ago. This is where the directions in the letter had directed him to, but he was having second, third and maybe fourth thoughts about this idea. Kenny was wondering how quickly he could go back a choice and try out the party instead, when there was a blue flash of light seen through the broken windows of the warehouse. The light made a strange humming noise and illuminated the night. Yup. Definitely having those fourth thoughts now. Before he could turn back, the shutter doors creaked and moaned, and slowly began to rise up. The inside of the warehouse was still unseen through the glaring light, and as he covered his eyes to protect from the blinding flash, he saw a silhouette stood in the opening, until the light finally started to wind down, and the figure stepped forward into view.

She was a short woman, that was what Kenny first noticed. She was roughly 5 foot and quite slim. Her bright red hair was drawn back into a ponytail. She was wearing a strange set of goggles on her face, but Kenny could see below her eyes, noting her freckles and soft looking lips. She wore a long, messy labcoat over a green waistcoat and crisp brown pants, like she had attempted to dress smart but couldn't resist keeping the lab coat on. She had a slim set of legs and hips with an average sized chest that she puffed out proudly before her. "Greetings, my fellow associates! I'm truly glad you all could make it here today!", she exclaimed in a strong, high-class voice. She awaited a response, her arms flung out wide out, as the silence grew deeper. She glanced around the area, before finally taking off the large goggles, her bright green eyes inquisitively peering this way and that. "Where on Earth...you there!" she pointed directly at Kenny. "Have you seen any other men around here? Did you happen to pass them all travelling together? Perhaps they have broken down on the way here?" Kenny shook his head. "Ummm...s-sorry. No. Just me." The woman looked at him in growing shock, then flung her arms up in exasperation. "BUFFOONS! CRETINS! LUDDITES, ALL OF THEM! I give them the chance to experience my genius in person, and they respond with this...this INSULT? Oh they told me, they ALL told me, "Try and get back in their good books, Melissa! The physical wounds will all have healed by now, if not the emotional ones." and look at this! The only one here is....is....". The woman, apparently called Melissa, peered curiously at Kenny. "....who ARE you?"

"Oh, um, I'm Kenny. Your note ended up going to my dorm room. I-I just figured I would, I dunno, check it out?" He was starting to realise his mistake. It was far too late. "Oh really?" Melissa looked impressed. "You wanted to witness my genius for yourself, did you? Such an inquisitive mind!" She approached quickly, grasping Kenny's hand in greeting. "You may call me Melissa. I am the worlds greatest inventor...or...WILL be, I suppose. Not quite there yet! What a wonderful chance you've taken, a leap into the great unknown, and now you will be rewarded for your curiosity!" She started to drag Kenny into the warehouse. "W-wait, I don't think...I should probably..." he spluttered desperately, unable to wrench Melissa's grip from his wrist. "Curious AND humble? How wonderful! You put my former assistants to shame, that's for sure. No no, my friend. You've earned this chance! Come with me..." She turned to look him in the eyes with a dangerous grin, "...my NEW assistant."

Kenny barely got the scream out before the shutter doors slammed shut, the outside of the warehouse completely silent.
