St. Valentine's Day

You and Karen are on a double date of sorts with Bobby and Ashley. You all went four hours to Capital City. You are there in part to check out enrolling at State University next fall, but also for more romantic opportunities. Ashley isn't going back to Woocott Institute as there was a pregnancy outbreak and they wouldn't admit Bobby as a student anyway. Ashley wants to go to the same school as Bobby next fall. While not hanging with you, Jon and his girlfriend Lexie Whyte and Joe and his girlfriend Wendy Ooglemeyer are also in Capital City for the same reasons. The reputation of Johnson College took a dive before Christmas when nine students were arrested on major **** charges. As the Winter Semester started it was determined that many of the Johnson men were responsible for the Woocott moms-to-be.

While at State you bump into Staci. She transferred to State over the Christmas break as all Woocott sports were cancelled as the pregnancy outbreak included many of the student athletes. She is with her roommate Cindy (another transfer student) who is thinner than when you saw her at the party. Maddie is also with them. Maddie is attending State from Green River City as part of a new program Junior Jump Up! Maddie is taking online and on campus classes at G.R.V.C.C. as well as attending High School. The program is for students that fell behind, mostly young mothers, to graduate from State in the normal time. This was one of her few required weeks on State University's main campus. Maddie is not a mom or mother-to-be. She got real sick three years ago and then helped her mom care for her aging grandmother, which caused her to miss two years of high school. They ask you if you want to party and you say no-you are here with your girlfriend and your respective best friends.

Before you left town with Uncle Jim's car, you borrowed it as it is better on long trips than your van, Karen heard from her aunt that Amber isn't doing so well in the half way house she is in. After she found out she was pregnant, Amber got real drunk, crashed her car, and fought with law enforcement officers. She would be in prison except for a technicality at her hearing and her pregnancy. Amber blames everyone else for her problems and her pregnancy is difficult as she is having twins.

You give Karen her grandmother's watch back, fixed-with a twist, it is now engraved 'Karen and Kevin, In Love Forever' on the back cover. You ask her if she likes and she knocks you over backwards jumping up to hug you. You might have been injured if Bobby wasn't behind you to break your fall. After this trip, while still good friends with Bobby and Ashley, you and Karen spend more time alone as a couple. You are more into hanging with Joe and his girlfriend Wendy as you are all still in high school, all work at the Smith's grocery store, and are or are former athletes. While Joe and Wendy both come from affluent families, they are not in the league of the Smith's or Whyte's. Jon and Bobby aren't athletes and Ashley and Lexie were only cheerleaders. Ashley and Lexie have very expensive tastes that you and Joe can't match.

Jon and Lexie have a weird on and off relationship that kinda works for them. Four days before spring break they have their fifth major 'I'm never dating you EVER again!!!' fight. Their first such break up was in seventh grade. They were going to go to stay with Ashley and Bobby, Joe and Wendy, and Bill and Erica at a place Bill rented in the Florida Keys. You and Karen buy their spots cheap. You, Bobby, and Joe team drive Ashley's car and make the trip in just 24 hours after leaving Green River City. Bill and his fiance, Erica Bradley flew down to Miami and rented a sports car to drive the rest of the way. They are old enough to buy **** for everyone once they get to the resort.

You and Karen spend equal time working on your tans, drinking, and fucking. You also do some studying as you had planned to work more this week and then study after spring break. You do most of the long drive back as Bobby and Joe are too sun burned and hung over. Ashley and Wendy drive some of the trip back, but only during the day and only on less traveled freeways between big towns. Jon and Lexie covered for you and Karen at the store. They spend time working together and get back together at the end of Spring Break. You and Karen work extra shifts once you are back.
