A number of pills plus two drinks equals what?

Steve went in, hoping that Lisa would stay put for a while. Monica led him to the living room, and he greeted Nina. He noticed that both of them were drinking wine. He just had to get the pills into the wineglasses.

Monica indicated that Steve should sit in a chair, then she sat down and looked at Steve. "What's going on?"

Steve thought for a minute. Monica had broken up with him because he had wanted to get a little more serious with her--he tried to get her to agree to see only him, and he'd agree to the same with her, but she'd told him she didn't want to commit like that, and they'd just stopped seeing each other. Steve said, "Oh, I just wanted to see how you were doing. If now's a bad time, I could go..."

Monica smiled at him. "No, that's okay, right, Nina?"

"Yes," Nina responded with her wonderfully accented voice. "Stay."

"Okay," Steve said. He looked at Nina. She was short, but had a well-built body, very toned due to workouts. Her skin was of a medium complexion, and she had reddish blonde hair (thanks to the work of some color in a box product, Steve was pretty sure). He looked at the wineglasses and suddenly noticed that they were about half empty (or half full, as you may like to say it). "Would it be allright if I got a glass of wine? I'll top yours off, too?"

Monica laughed. "Sure, you big mooch. I'll get it for you. " She stood and started to the kitchen.

"Damn," Steve thought. "That would have worked."

Suddenly, Nina said, "I'm going to visit the ladies' room." She stood up and walked down the hallway, leaving Steve by himself.

Steve snorted in amusement, then fished out some pills to crush and drop in the glasses.
