Chapter 5

Does Arianna decide to leave?
Arianna goes after her dress, and that monarch
Arianna steeled herself and tried to remember where she saw those two monarchs before she fell. It likely would be not far upstream, but they were moving down. She could possibly track them and fetch her dress in the same swoop.
She moved down the river, though stayed beside it, for a hundred yards before it turned into a muddied cliff that spilled into the creek. The culprit log was on the other side of the creek, and she carefully tested how deep the water was before stepping in. Slowly, she moved with the water up to her knees, moving on by. It was fast, and it pushed at her, but it was not too bad.
On the backside of the log, she saw the dress curled around one of the log's broken branches. She trudged forward a few more steps, and then saw a butterfly above her.
She looked up, then watched it fly behind her. In the water, she was ill equipped to do anything aside from watch. She turned and saw it land at the top of the mud cliff. The cliff spilled into the creek, and would likely fall all in over time, but as it was it still had loose roots and rocks sticking out of it. As she had turned, though, she did not look where she stepped. Her boot slipped off the side of a smooth river rock, and she fell against the cliff. She grabbed for anything, but her hands pulled roots out, and part of the cliff collapsed. She fell into the creek again.
Her head sang in confusion and pain as she slipped further down the creek. She grasped for anything and her hands found her dress. She held on to try and keep herself from falling further from the butterfly, but felt it tear. Then, she was travelling again another fifty yards down the creek, water rushing around herself. She moved herself to the side of the creek bed and pulled herself up with the greens growing nearby - vines and leaves and branches alike.
Arianna laid on the creek bed, slowly sitting up. Her bag was gone. Sometime when she hit her head she did not realize it fell off her shoulder.
Then she realized, her slip was gone. Where had it gone? It had gotten stuck against that mud cliff, somewhere in those rocks or in the creek itself, and slipped up her body as she was carried backwards. She had in her hand a scrap of her sundress, slightly transparent and wet, not three feet or so in roughly a square. Otherwise, she had her boots, and her soaked panties, which sat low on her waist. She cursed and pulled them up while looking around, their heaviness bunching the band on her hips. Her whole body was wet, and the raising sun made it glisten. She was alone, but she was alone in a forest connected only to a city - and now she HAD to get home. She had nothing left here!
But how could she get back? She was practically naked.
How does Arianna deal with this?

Butterflies
Exploring a park, trying to keep clothes - the normal
It is a hot, humid day in a sprawling city beside a river. Arianna is a butterfly farmer who sells her specimen to the zoo. She is in her late twenties, tall, and strong. Her job requires a good bit of walking, exploring, and keeping up gardens. She is currently looking for a monarch in a city park, not knowing how bad her day is about to get.
