Chapter 3
by Bluequoise
What would you like for your strongest tool of influence?
Beauty
"Well that's almost stereotypical. If you can't be the boss then be beautiful? Do women really think life is that easy? Do you really think life can be that easy?
"There are plenty of girls who are born drop dead gorgeous and amount to nothing, they might not even make the cheer squad in high school. More importantly a tool of influence has a bad tendency to wear out quickly and leave with nothing to leverage.
"But if this is your path of choice then by all means take it. But a word of advice, don't obsess about your looks or you'll have a sure fire shot at losing them early on. It's just reality, and I happen to like reality more than illusions.
"On the positive note there are some wonderful women in the world who's number one attribute is considered their good looks and they use that leverage to do some wonderful things for the world like run charity campaigns, or marry rich powerful men and personally spend all THEIR money on charity work. Either way the puppies are happy.
"But I ramble and digress. Beauty like a dream princess will be your first asset in this world that mistakenly tells young girls that good looks are more important brains. Do have fun with yourself John."
Most babies are cute, but I was photogenic and gorgeous, my parents had devoted entire albums to my baby pictures in as many outfits as they could afford for me. And it helped that my mother had a photography hobby apart from the many other hobbies that involved the great outdoors that both my parents shared.
They would tell me all my years growing up about how they had met as part of a college camping trip through the Rocky Mountains. A week long trip hiking, camping and canoeing down the Missouri River on it's way out of the mountains. Mom and dad were paired to the same canoe and by the time they got back to campus they were dating. Dad the Business Marketing major and Mom the Accounting Major.
After college Dad started working as a car insurance sales man and mom rand the books for the local office. And while I was still in my crib Dad made it to the regional manager for the state. Mom still did the business book keeping but worked mostly from home so that she could dote on me without shame.
And so I was just a little spoiled growing up, had all the sass that my Mama taught me, and most importantly of all I had a lot of time outside. Not many children who grow up with working parents get all that.
What is the final ingrediant of your childhood?
