Chapter 39 by airwreck airwreck

What game do you play?

Strip poker.

"So who wants to play Twister?" Connie asks, raising her hand excitedly. Amie raises her hand to cast her vote.

"Truth or Dare?, anyone?" Ellie frowns when noone raises their hand.

"I guess we're going to play strip poker then," Val says with a haughty smirk after you and Loretta raise your hands.

Accepting her defeat, Connie grabs the aluminum case poker set from the bookcase of board games and lays it out on the floor. Loretta helps her distribute the $100 of chips evenly as everyone sits in a circle.

"Everyone knows how to play Texas hold'em?" Val asks.

Everybody nods.

"For strip poker if you lose all of your chips you have to drink your beer and take off a piece of clothing!" Val explains. "However, you can buy more chips by taking another piece of clothing off." Amie looks nervous at the sound of the rules.

"Since you're the guest, you get to be the dealer." Ellie tosses you the button chip. Connie to your left is the small blind and Loretta, left of her, is the big blind. You shuffle the cards and deal out two cards to each person.

"Fold," Ellie says.

Val tosses her cards.

"Um.... call," Amie hesitantly adds and throws in two chips into the pot.

You look at your cards: the Nine of Diamonds and the Nine of Hearts. "Call."

Connie throws in a chip. "Call."

"Check," Loretta says on her turn.

You deal the flop to reveal the Ten of Diamonds, Four of Clubs, and Nine of Spades. You have a three of a kind.

Connie looks at her cards again and pauses before says, "I'll raise five."

Loretta bites her lower lips. "I'm out."

Amie nervously looks at Connie then to you before looking at her cards again. "I'll call."

You deal the turn card, revealing the King of Diamonds. You catch Connie's eyes briefly flash with excitement.

"I'll raise twenty," the young redhead says, barely able to hide the excitement in her voice.

Amie tosses her cards.

You eye Loretta and she can't help but smile at you. "I'll call," you smile back and toss in four chips.

You reveal the river card to be the Ten of Hearts. You put on your best poker face at the full house you have in your hands.

"Forty," Connie says without hiding her excitement.

You wonder what cards Connie has or if she's simply bluffing. The only way to find out is to call her out on it.

What do you call?
