Sword of submission

"How about a carrot?" Chathi words came in as a surprise, the three girls were each examining their bounties as they continued their journey. Ariadne and Daphne exchanged glances, equally lost.

"What?" the priestess asked, veering her horse closer to the ranger's. She was holding the armor's left gauntlet in her free hand, it was apparently too big for her to wear. Daphne slowed down so she was on the ranger's other side, also curious about the unusual inquiry. "What about carrots?" Ariadne completed the question.

"Well, being half plant, do you feel attracted to them?" Daphne remained puzzled "Why would I be attracted to them? it is just food."

"But they are kinda phallic" Ariadne laughed at how shocked Daphne looked, she was aghast. "how about a cucumber?"

"Don't you both know what I like already?" she hoped the brazen answer would shut them up, but instead her friends continued "She likes it big! No wonder she is holding her new staff so tightly" and not even the mage managed not to laugh at that. "So, did you figure anything out about it yet?"

"Not much. These runes etched on the side may give me some clue, but they aren't in any language that I recognize." Daphne changed her grip, and added "It is very sturdy. Maybe I will just use it to bash people's heads. How about you?" She asked the cleric.

"I am pretty sure the armor will change to fit my body once I try it on. The aura looked fairly powerful." And in cue she looked towards the ranger.

She gave a command word and one the sword in her hand flared in black flames, to her friends the obvious awe . "The boots will keep me stealthy, I am sure. As for the other sword... it has Lliira's holy symbol on it, so maybe it was a paladin's blade. She did't struck me dead when I tested it, so I don't think she is angry."

"I don't think the goddess of joy and happiness have paladins, Chathi" Ariadne was thoughtful "She is more of a slut, really. The 'joybringer'."

"Really? she doesn't sound so bad then. I hate prudish Gods" Chathi was clearly joking. but Ariadne took exception. "Well, I hope Talona doesn't punish your carousing with crabs, or worse."

"Wow, where did that come from?"the comment took both friends by surprise "Sorry, I didn't mean any disrespect to the Mother of All Plagues" Chathi quickly apologized, Talona clerics were famous for being mercurial and vindictive.

They rode on until they reached the next village, where they could finally take a boat to the coast.
