After pondering for a little while Daphne decided there was something 'off' with the tale. While Avrak was capable of subtlety, it didn't make sense trying to **** her in a back alley; it just wouldn't improve his dignitas with the other red wizards. No, far more likely it was one of the other students, eager to set the two most brilliant students against each other, hoping to increase their own standing.

The dryad shook her head, it hardly helped her. Who did she really trust in the wizard compound? Her teachers only cared for her as much as she produced serviceable magical items, her friends were mostly convenience associations and even the servants also begrudged her fortune of having some Mulan blood.

"Avrak" He was meditating under the canopy of the trees, as he so often did after he was done with his chores for the day. "May I speak with you?" He wasn't particularly alarmed by her seeking him out, but she noticed how he held a wand under his sleeves.

When I asked who gave him the order he told me it was you" she tried to have as little accusation in her tone as she could manage, but the evoker was wary and revealed his wand, pointed straight at her.

"I know nothing of this chicanery. To even suggest I would resort to..." His tone was bold, perhaps asserting his innocence to whoever could be eavesdropping the two of them. "I know, that is why I am here. Whoever planted this wanted to pit us against each other." He stole a furtive glance around then, perhaps trying once more to spot hidden eavesdroppers.

"It is no concern of mine. Even if you did come at me, I would still reduce you to crisp" He exaggerated his scowl, Daphne had to struggle not to smirk in turn at the transparent posturing.
