Noah ditched his shirt and lay down on the bed in the dark. This was one of the spare rooms. Emily's family always called this place a "cabin," but that was seriously underselling it. Between the nine of them there were rooms for each and every person so long as a few were willing to share. In the privacy of his own head he didn't need to lie to himself. He had always been professional with Kate, never crossing a line. But he liked her. It was nothing serious. Just a little workplace crush. But damn did she fill out a pair of slacks. Once or twice she had even slipped into his thoughts when he had been jerking off. Not that he would admit any of that if Emily asked him about it. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her. Besides, it had been her fault he'd kissed Kate. It had excited him to see her pointing to the two of them in turn, and the kiss had been... it had been pretty spectacular. Maybe there was more sexual tension between them than he had realized.

While he was thinking he saw a crack of light appear in the doorway. Emily had come back to apologize. Or to get an apology from him. Whichever way it went, he would go along with it. Happy wife, happy life, as the saying went. No need to ruin the weekend with something like this.

"Can I come in?" The voice didn't belong to Emily. Was it who he thought it was?

"Yeah, sure," he said, nonchalant. The door opened. He recognized the silhouette standing there. It was Kate. She was still wearing that dress she had had on during the game. It wasn't just slacks she looked good in. "Oh, hey."
