To the forest

Quickly assessing her options, Glenda chooses the Forest. Going into town right now will likely result in her being caught. It's too risky. The forest will give her a better chance of losing and hiding from the guards. Plus the guards are less likely to believe that she went into forest than they are to believe she went into town

Glenda runs towards the forest. She runs as fast she possible can, which is difficult given her wet royal gown and slippers. She made it to the tree-line before anyone can really see her, and the forest was too thick for horses to run much faster than she could. She stumbled through the brush, bushes and low hanging branches , her dress heavy with water snagging on every thorn. She doesn't let all of that stop her as she continues running for her freedom

After a few minutes of straight running, Glenda slows down to catch her breath and to listen. She can't hear any of guards or horse approaching. No one call out to her. She can't even hear the sound of animals being disturbed by the guards. She seems to have lost the guards

A smile graces Glenda's face. She has done it. She has finally managed to escape the palace and avoided being captured. She is free.

Glenda checks over herself. Her once fine gown is now torn and dirty. Still perfectly functional for anyone, but it no longer bears resemblance to the garment it once was. The only thing Glenda has that indicates her royal status is her princess tiara, which is holding firm on her head, and her fine jewelry, such as a necklace, ring, and bracelet.

Glenda tries to think of what to do next. She has her freedom. Now she needs to maintain. She could walk until she recaches another town, where she can sell her jewelry for supplies. She could even try to live off the land. She hears a stream nearby and has heard of ways adventurers live off the land. She could even just keep running until she escapes Karth altogether. That way she can explore the lands beyond her kingdom and forge a new identify for herself. So many choices.
