What's next?
Girl Talk
Despite Vicki’s confidence that she was going to win they had taken up a post on lounge chairs right next to the pool.
It was odd given the size of the parties no one ever used the pool. Most didn’t expect it to be there so they didn’t bring swim suits. Others who knew couldn’t tell if it was off limits or not. Sean didn’t mind folks not using the pool. It was one less place to clean come the morning. Tonight though that was different.
“I’m not even sure why you hang out with him.” Sabrina said coldly to her best friend.
“Because we’re friends. I’ve known him just as long as you have. And I know you guys dated, but you broke up with him and neither of you will tell anyone what happened so… unless you have a reason I should be mad at him…” it was a familiar conversation between the two. Sabrina had been cagey about the breakup ever since it had happened 6 months ago, and all Sean would say was that anyone with questions should ask her what happened. Vicki’s attraction to Sean aside she wanted to do right by her friend and teammate, but if she wouldn’t tell her why the broke up she found it hard to be angry with Sean, whom she’d known just as long as Sabrina.
“It’s whatever.” The blonde said implying anything but the sort.
“What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong? I’m pissed at you for making this stupid bet! Now I have to sit here for the next 30 minutes worrying about whether or not I’m gonna have to streak thru the Men’s practice next week!”
“Why are you worried?!? I’m the one that made the bet and I’m not worried. And besides even if I lose why do you think you’d have to do it?”
“Vic… Come on. Who else would you even ask? And who else would say yes but me?” Sabrina gave her best friend the side eye. In truth she was right on. If she had lost she would’ve hoped her best friend would be there by her side for her punishment. But she wasn’t about to tell her that.
“Honestly I hadn’t even thought about it since there is no way I lose.”
“I dated Sean for almost a year. He doesn’t make that bet unless he thinks he can win.”
“I know he thinks he can win. But we know every girl here and I can guarantee that none of them are getting naked and jumping in that pool.”
“I hope you’re right…” Sabrina said as she looked over Vicki’s shoulder. She turned to see what Sabrina was looking at and caught sight of Jasmine walking quickly towards them.
“There you are!” She cried out as she got over to the two girls. The sophomore worshipped the ground her two upperclass teammates walked on and displayed her usual giddiness at being around them.
“What’s up Jazzy?” Vicki asked, suddenly worried by her appearance.
“Well you remember how you told me to come find you and let you know if Sean started getting really close with any girls at the party or if any random girls showed up we didn’t recognize?”
“Yes?” Vicki’s stomach started to drop.
“Well there’s this blonde girl here that Sean and Ben met out front and we’re talking to. I don’t recognize her.”
Vicki and Sabrina shared a worried look. “When was this?” Sabrina asked standing up ready to go and find Sean to hopefully intervene.
“Well it took me a few minutes to find you guys…” Jasmine said suddenly looking concerned at the two girls reactions. She hadn’t been told about the bet and had assumed that it had all been apart of some plan to keep Sabrina’s ex from hooking up with someone. But based on the two girls faces it was a lot more important than that.
“Do you think…” Vicki’s question was caught in her throat as they heard shouts and cheers from the direction of the house.
