Bump in the night...

"AÆEEEEGGGHHH!!!"

Will bolted awake. His room swathed in darkness, he sat and listened. A few minutes passed by, had he imagined the scream?

"HEELPP!!! AÆEEEGH!!" Came another scream, sounding like it came from just outside, in the trees.

"Ok, I definitely didn't imagine that!" Will decided, leaping out of bed. He grabbed his sword, but decided against getting into his clothes - someone was clearly in trouble and the time it takes to throw on a shirt and pants may be a matter of life and ****.

Clutching his sword, still within its scabbard, he dashed into the main room. The fire was now just glowing coals, and he noticed his mothers bedroom door was still open, 'so she still hasn't come home' Will thought, hoping she was just sleeping at Justine - her best friends - house.

"GETT OFF OF ME YOU BRUTES!!" Came screaming from outside. It sounded like a girl in a lot of trouble.

Will threw open the front door and lept out into the cold night air, immediately regretting not putting on more clothes as he shivered, and goosebumps formed on his arms.

He ran out into the night, heading in the direction of the screams, he tried to place his bare feet carefully, aware of sticks and brambles as he charged deeper into the woods. The screams continued, clearly getting further away from him, and from the village. As he got closer, he could also hear other cruel sounding voices mixed in with the woman's screams.

Finally, huffing at the pace he was running, he spied what was causing the commotion. Ahead, on a thin forest track, five small figures drag and carry a woman, who is screaming and struggling against restraints around her arms. The smaller figures seem to be about stomach high on Will, they have cloaks pulled over their heads, and two of them are armed with sharp sticks. They don't seem to have noticed Will yet, his approach masked by the shouts of the woman.

The woman was wearing a black shortskirt, but her large perky breasts were uncovered, bouncing and swaying as she is dragged, her long blonde hair tangled with leaves and sticks.

"Shit! Its Eve again! How many times will I run into her tonight.." Will muttered in surprise. "I have to help her" He pulled his sword from its scabbard, dropping the leather case to the ground and cursing the bluntness of the blade. He braced himself and then charged at the figures.

"ARRRGH!! Leave her alone!!" He yelled, running up to the group, swinging his sword wildly at the closest figure. His sword makes contact, and knocks the figure to the ground with a yelp. Their hood is thrown off the the impact revealing their dark green complexion, long pointed nose, and one cruel crimson eye, the other covered by a black eyepatch.

"Goblins!!" Will exclaims in surprise and fear, stepping back holding his sword infront of him. Many of the tales he'd heard as a kid involved goblins **** children and eating them, or murdering travellers.

The goblin on the ground scurries back away from him, holding his arm where he was hit. "Get him!!" He shouts to his friends, and they approach Will with their sticks raised, faces in shadow under their cloaks, but devilish grins unmistakable. The fourth goblin holds onto Eve, grabbing a handful of her breast as he holds her down.

Will watches as the two armed goblins approach him, waiting for them to act. Suddenly, in unison they both leap forward at him preparing to skewer him. He spins to the side, dodging the first, and he kicks out into the air at the second. His foot slams into its chest, sending it flying a few metres before tumbling across the ground.

"Take that!" Will shouts, adrenaline pumping through his veins, but he suddenly feels an excruciating pain in his right leg. He swings around, seeing a long cut on his calf, the goblin he dodged standing with his spear dripping with blood. The goblin makes another attack, but Will manages to parry it with his sword, throwing the goblin off balance. Will pulls his sword up in a long arc and brings it down on the goblin, striking it directly on its shoulder, the goblin collapsing under the **** of the blow. A little blood drips down Wills sword now, but it seems that mostly it is acting as a club, bashing instead of slashing in its blunt state.

He stares down at the crumbled and groaning form of the goblin, snatching its spear from it and throwing it to the side.

"She dies!" Came a voice from behind him. He turns to see the two remaining goblins holding short wicked blades to Eves throat. "She dies if you come closer!" The one-eyed goblin is speaking.

The woman sobs, tears streaming down her face, her makeup running in an ugly mess.

"Wait! Wait, okay, just don't hurt her!" Will pleaded, holding up his free hand in an appeasing gesture.

The two goblins he knocked down slowly get up and stumble towards the group, seeming in a lot of pain.

"I will stay here with you. My friends will take her away. When they have left, I will leave too. This, or she dies!" Eyepatch screeches, pulling his knife away from Eve's throat and stepping around her. The other goblins grab Eve, and begin to drag her away again, she's stopped struggling now, still with a blade at her throat, but screams out to Will.

"PLEASE!!! Will!! Don't let them take me!!" Her voice quickly dissolves into sobs.

"IM SORRY! I'll Find you!! I can't let them hurt you!!" Will yells back, feeling awful about letting the goblins best him, and seeing her be dragged away by them into the darkness, likely to an awful fate if no one can rescue her in time.
