Divide and conquer

“They split us up and got us drunk,” says Ross. “The guys took me. And the girls took Rachel.”

I pour myself another drink and sit back and listen. Monica snuggles up close to me. I’m interested to hear what happened. In my mind, I’m hoping Monica is also curious.

If she’s interested, maybe I could reach out to Nick to see when their next “trip” is. But I stop myself before I think too far ahead. Maybe Ross and Rachel had a terrible time. I’ll just listen to their stories, and decide after.
